At Sunnybrook, people are our greatest strength. This year's annual report is a celebration of their extraordinary efforts and an expression of deep gratitude for all that has been accomplished. It is also a report to the community on how we are serving and honouring our commitments to the people of North Toronto and Ontario when it matters most.

We marked a historic milestone with the opening of the Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre — a facility that redefines how mental health and brain sciences care is delivered in Canada. While the architecture is remarkable, it is the people who will fill the space with life and purpose, making it a beacon of hope for patients and families.

We also launched Invent 2030, our new strategic plan. Health care is at a pivotal moment — and this plan is our response. Ambitious, focused and rooted in research, education and collaboration, Invent 2030 sets the direction for the next five years.

This year, we sharpened our focus on improving access to care, particularly in our Emergency Department. Through the work of the Access to Emergent Care Task Force, we are already seeing positive results, and this remains a top priority in the year to come.

Sunnybrook's excellence continues to be recognized globally — we are proud to again be named one of the World's Best Hospitals by Newsweek. Looking ahead, the momentum continues with our integration with Vibrant Community Health, the arrival of Canada's first 7T MRI scanner, the late-2025 opening of the Peter Cipriano Centre for Seniors Health, and the implementation of a new Health Information System.
